Using the right set of tools in your organization or business is crucially important to help move your business forward, especially when cash flow is slow. Right now in the world of Information Technologies, most of the tools and services you require to radically transition your business from its current state to a better position are readily available and provided. While most of these tools are free, you do have to spend some cash to start seeing tangible results.
So what are the most important tools and services that you can deploy for your business to help move you forward? Here are 7 selected tools and services I think would move you forward if you use them accurately and strategically.
Millions of people use Skype everyday and I am one of those millions. I use Skype for both business and personal calls and to share files while in a business meeting. Skype started as a free video and voice calling application. But now you can use Skype to make calls to landlines and mobile phones at a ridiculously low rate. With Skype you can take collaboration to another level, share your computer screens, send photos and files of any size, all while on a call. Your Customers will feel a sense of personal touch and connection if you make available to them your Skype ID which they can call you on, also, you will be more productive with your team especially of they are geographically apart by using Skype. Skype is free but it also offer a premium paid version. Not surprisingly, you can now use Skype on the Web. www.skype.com
- Use WeTransfer
WeTransfer is a free online file transferring platform for sending your big files free of charge to anyone anywhere in the world. I find this service very useful and fast unlike DropBox and Google Drive where registration and setup is required. With WeTransfer you simply upload your files up to 2GB at a time and transfer to your desired email. This service saves you lots of time and storage. Files are transferred over a secured HTTPS connection and WeTransfer only keeps the file for a 2-weeks period and your file deleted off their server forever. This free service is awesome, if you send file a lot to your clients or customers you should try it out. www.wetransfer.com. As at December 2015 (over a month ago), the world’s population of Internet Users has risen to 46.4% compared to 0.4% when the world wide web was launched in 1995. Asia has the highest percentage of Internet Users with Africa on the 4th position while North America is ranked 5th. (Source: http://www.internetworldstats.com/stats.htm). This is an incredible statistic that is noteworthy. This fact presents a tremendous business opportunities to business not just in Africa but all over the world. There is never a better time to take your business online than now. - Get Google Analytics
Now that you have a website, you have registered your presence online, what’s next? One of the next line of action you must take is to sign up for Google Analytics. Google Analytics lets you do more than measure sales and conversions. It also gives insights into how visitors find and use your site, and how to keep them coming back. Google Analytics helps you analyze visitor traffic and paint a complete picture of your audience and their needs. Track the routes people take to reach you and the devices they use to get there with reporting tools like Traffic Sources. Learn what people are looking for and what they like with In-Page Analytics. Then tailor your marketing and site content for maximum impact. If you really want to make informed business decisions you should begin to use Google Analytics. Google also offer free analytics education so you have all the help you need to get started. http://analytics.google.com
- Get Active on Social Media
If you get serious about using social networks as much as you get serious about building your business you will realize that getting serious about social networks is actually getting serious about your business. The power of social networking is such that, the number of worldwide users is expected to reach some 2.5 billion by 2018, around a third of Earth’s entire population. An estimated half a billion of these users is expected to be from China alone and approximately a quarter of a million from India. The region with the highest penetration rate of social networks is North America, where around 60 percent of the population has at least one social account. As of 2015, over 70 percent of the United States population had a social networking profile. (Source: http://www.statista.com/topics/1164/social-networks/)
The very first thing you want to do if you have not done it is to actually create and setup your social media accounts like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn. I recommend to have at least these four. Once they are up and running, then you need to build your followership organically or through paid ads. Organically, you can start by inviting all your personal and business contacts to LIKE your facebook page, and follow on Twitter, etc. Once all this is done, then you need to begin to engage your would-be customers on purpose by uploading regular relevant posts.
Thank you for reading to the end. I hope what you have read you will make use of at some point soon if not immediately. There are many more tools that could have made this list but these 10 are the ones that made it to my list, if you have any other tools please feel free to leave us a comment.
